Recommended Repertoire
Due to the wide range of performance repertoire available, we encourage students to select one of the works on this list for their festival experience. Generally, works that are in the public domain or are available for purchase that have orchestral parts easily available are preferred, and for concertos with multiple movements, one movement with a cadenza, or a second and/or third movement together not exceeding ten minutes is recommended.
This list was created from the repertoire that we have engaged with most within the past decade of SMF. Those desiring to play alternative repertoire not on this list must consult with the festival director in advance before registration. Works that are available for "hire" or "rental" only will not be accepted for the festival, due to the cost and administrative overhead in securing parts and performance rights.
