Daily Details
Your individual daily schedules are being worked on by the faculty, and will be available tomorrow (Monday) morning at 9:00am orientation meeting in the Marcus D. Hurlbut Theater.
OFFICIAL SUMMER SCHOOL TIMES
Our official activities take place on Monday through Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm (Chamber Music) and 12:30pm-3:30pm (Solo Programs). On Friday and Saturday, the schedule includes assigned rehearsal blocks for the soloists with the full festival orchestra on stage 2:00pm-5:00pm. Please note that we still have regular class times on Friday, save for the special rehearsal time in the afternoon for the soloists with the California Solisti.
PICKUP AND DROPOFF
The Performing Arts Center is located at 31641 La Novia, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. A portion of the campus is under construction this summer, and there are clearly gated areas that are off limits to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. PLEASE SEE THIS MAP FOR A BETTER PARKING EXPERIENCE--the SMES Parking Lot on the north end of the Ortega Business Center is available and there is a rear entrance to the PAC that will be unlocked for your access to campus.

LUNCH, WATER, AND SNACKS
There is a 30-minute break for lunch each day, and each student who is staying for the full day should bring a sack lunch from home. We recommend that you bring a reusable water bottle, as water will be provided by the festival each day, along with snacks. Due to the intensive schedule of the festival, we do not recommend using meal delivery services. If you have any issues getting proper nutrition during the week, please see Mr. Wie for help.
ATTIRE
Please wear comfortable attire for rehearsals during the day. Please note that the Performing Arts Center is heavily air-conditioned! As part of our Community Standards, all of our faculty and staff appear in Business Casual, and students are advised to avoid clothing that would be excessively revealing or displays images/text that would cause other members of our campus community distress. A gender-neutral "reasonable standard" will be applied by the Artistic Director, who will make any final determinations about the appropriateness of attire at their discretion.
For the chamber music concert, please color-coordinate with your ensemble(s). While the program is dressy/formal, this is summer so there is no need to come in all black. :)
For solo concerts, please dress as formally as you are comfortable, with any colors you please. These concerts are "formal" and expect that the conductors and orchestra will be in all-black formal attire.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
A basic coverage of our emergency procedures will be covered in our opening meeting on Monday, June 24th @ 9:00am.
In the event of an emergency, please accept guidance from our professional community faculty and staff who will assist you in every way possible. Should any sort of emergency arise and you have access to a mobile phone or any of the building phones, do not hesitate to call 911. Using a building phone to reach emergency services will also connect you simultaneously to the St. Margaret's Front Desk operator and allow emergency services to identify the local of the emergency on campus much quicker.
The Nurse's Office on campus is professionally staffed and equipped to deal with most medical situations.
SECURITY
The campus makes extensive use of high definition security cameras located throughout the entire building (except in classrooms and bathrooms) and the entire campus. Be aware that your activities may be monitored at any time that you are present on our grounds.
For their safety while under our care at the Summer Music Festival, students under the age of 18 may not leave the the campus without adult supervision. If your parents/guardians wish to check you out from campus during the day, please have them check in at the school front desk when they arrive.
