Free Educator Workshop
Exploring Violin Pedagogy
Come join William Fitzpatrick in discovering different supplemental materials to expand your teaching library! From Founder and First Violinist of the New York String Quartet, to Director of Chamber Music at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France, he has taught many of today’s leading violinists and chamber musicians. A graduate of the Juilliard School, he studied with Dorothy DeLay and served as teaching assistant to Robert Mann and Claus Adam of the Juilliard String Quartet.
Mr. Fitzpatrick has published many materials that help students advance, while thinking about the critical concept of “why." He is the author of 105 Rhythms for the Young Violinist, One String Scales for violin solo, and Violin Melodies, a set of sixteen etudes intended to guide violinists through the skills needed to reach the Kayser Etudes and the Vivaldi A Minor Concerto. You can see his online resources for violinists here: https://musisharevideos.com/ He is also the author of Billy (Amazon eBook), which is a collection of autobiographical short stories that detail his experiences growing up as a young black man in "the South" of the United States while pursuing a career as a soloist, conductor, teacher, and chamber musician. While you need to register to attend, there is no cost for this workshop, and we will not share your contact information for marketing or any other purposes.
